Respondents PRAYER:- Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the first and second respondents to grant permission and protection to conduct festival in Sudalai Madasamy Temple and Manur Sivan Kovil Manur Village, Manur Taluk, Tirunelveli District to be conducted by petitioner's villagers as per the settlement arrived before the 3rd respondent dated 11.09.2018.

For Petitioner : Mr.J.Jeyakumaran For R1 to R3 : Mr.R.Aanandharaj Additional Public Prosecutor COMMON ORDER These writ petitions have been filed to direct the respondent police to give adequate police protection for the temple festival on 12.09.2019 and 13.09.2019 at Arulmighu Sri Sudalai Madasamy Thirukovil, Manoor, Tirunelveli District.

2.Heard both sides.

3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that there is a dispute between two groups for conducting the temple festival and on 11.09.2018 a Peace Committee Meeting has been conducted by the Tahsildar and the matter has been settled between the parties and they accepted to conduct the temple festival jointly.

4. In the above circumstances, the respondent police are directed to provide effective police protection for the temple festival on 12.09.2019 and 13.09.2019 at Arulmighu Sri Sudalai Madasamy Thirukovil, Manoor, Tirunelveli District.
