PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 4 to remove the 5 and 6 respondents name from the patta No.2008 by considering the petitioner's representation dated 29.03.2025 within the period that may be stipulated by this Court. ORDER
The petitioner herein seeks a direction to the respondents 1 to 4 to delete the names of the respondents 5 and 6 from Patta No.2008 of Balakrishnapuram Village, Dindigul East Taluk, Dindigul District, by considering his representation dated 29.03.2025.
2. Heard the arguments of Mr.A.Arun Kumar, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mrs.K.Malathi, learned Additional Government Pleader, who takes notice for the respondents 1 to 4. Since no adverse order is passed against private respondents, notice to them is dispensed with. By consent of both sides, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. 2/6

According to the petitioner, the subject property in Survey Nos. 815/1 and 816 in the above mentioned village originally belonged to the petitioner's paternal grandfather Thomas and after his death, patta was issued in the name of the petitioner's father Robert Francis. During UDR updation, the names of the private respondents were added in the patta along with the name of the petitioner in Patta No.2008. Therefore, the petitioner submitted a representation on 29.03.2025 before the first respondent seeking deletion of the names of the private respondents. The same has not been considered. Hence, the petitioner has come before this Court.
4. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 to 4 would submit that the representation of the petitioner is under consideration and enquiry is posted today at 04.00 p.m.
5. In view of the said statement of the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 to 4, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, the first respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 29.03.2025 3/6
and pass final orders on its own merits within a period of 12 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after affording reasonable opportunity to the petitioner and the respondents 5 and 6.
6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
