Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for the issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 and 2 to ensure the right of the petitioner as a Mappillai Gounder (Thiruneer Distribution) in the Arulmighu Sree Muthalamman Kovil Pongal Festival, Melakottai Village, Thirumangalam Taluk, Madurai District, by considering the representation of the petitioner dated 01.06.2016. O R D E R

This is an application filed by the petitioner seeking a direction to the respondents 1 and 2 to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 01.06.2016.

2. Mr.D.Muruganandam, learned Additional Government Pleader, takes notice for the respondents 1 and 2. By consent, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

3. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the Respondents 1 and 2.

4. The learned Additional Government Pleader would submit that a joint meeting of the petitioner and the respondents was convened by the Inspector of Police, Thirumangalam Taluk Police Station and they have arrived at settlement.

5. Under such circumstances, the respondent police is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 01.06.2016 in the light of the joint settlement dated 07.06.2016 and to pass appropriate orders on the same.

(*)It is brought to the notice of this Court that already this Court has permitted the petitioner to take the honour by an order dated 11.06.2013 in W.P(MD)No.9021 of 2013, and therefore, the respondents are directed to consider the order dated 11.06.2013, while considering the representation of the petitioner dated 01.06.2016.

With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
