PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent herein to dispose of the petitioner's Appeal dated on 27.06.2022 in reference No. O.Mu.No. 4905/2022/A1 dated 26.07.2022 and consequently directing the respondents to restore the patta in the name of the petitioner's grandmother namely Nagaammal, W/o.Gurusamy Naicker, except sold out properties comprised in Survey No. 1574 situated in Genguvarpatty Town Panchayat, Periyakulam Taluk, Theni District based on the registered 1/4
sale Deed No. 2686 of 1956 dated 15.12.1956 within a reasonable time fixed by this Court.

The petitioner has submitted an application on 27.06.2022 for cancellation of Patta and has filed this writ petition that his application has not been considered by the respondents so far.
2.Mr.P.T.Thiraviam, learned Government Advocate, who takes notice for the respondents, on written instructions which he has received from the Revenue Divisional Officer, Periyakulam, Theni District submits that the application submitted by the petitioner before the Tahsildar, Periyakulam has been forwarded to the Revenue Divisional Officer, Periyakulam and the same is still pending. The Revenue Divisional Officer is conducting an enquiry and it would be completed within a period of six weeks. 2/4
3.Recording the submission made by the learned Government Advocate that the enquiry would be completed within six weeks, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the Revenue Divisional Officer, Periyakulam to issue notice to the petitioner as well as the other interested parties and conclude the proceedings within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
