PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of a writ of Mandamus, to direct the first respondent to re-issue passport to the petitioner by processing his online appointment in Receipt No.24-1006466965 for passport corresponding to File No.MD1076671773524 on the file of the first respondent within the time limit that may be stipulated by this Court. Heard both sides.

2.The petitioner's passport has expired. Hence, he made an application before the jurisdictional passport officer seeking re-issuance of his passport. Since the same was not processed, the present writ petition came to be filed.

3.When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) submitted that the verification process on the application of the petitioner is pending and on completion of the same, the passport will be reissued to the petitioner. 4.Since the verification process on the application of the petitioner is pending, the authorities are directed to complete the verification process and pass appropriate orders for re-issuance of passport within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 2/4
