ORDER

The petitioner has filed the above petition, invoking Section 11 of the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971, to initiate contempt proceedings and to punish the respondent for his willful disobedience of the order of this Court in Crl.O.P.(MD)No.2564 of 2023, dated 13.02.2023.

2. When the matter is taken up for hearing today, the respondent/contemnor has filed an affidavit stating that he was deputed to bundobust duty for the Chithirai Festival at Madurai and the other festival held at Srirangam Temple and hence, he was not able to file final report within time stipulated and the same was neither willful nor wanton and that the respondent has stated that he expressed his unconditional apology.

3. It is not in dispute that the final report has already been filed before the learned Munsif cum Judicial Magistrate, Srirangam on 09.06.2023 and the same was taken on file in C.C.No.67 of 2023 on 18.08.2023. 2/4

4. In view of the above and also the unconditional apology expressed by the contemnor/respondent, the Contempt Petition is closed. No costs. 26.09.2023 NCC : Yes/ No Index : Yes/No Internet : Yes/No das 3/4
