O RDER This Criminal Original Petition is filed seeking for a direction to the second respondent Police for expeditious completion of the investigation in Crime No.241 of 2023.

2. It is submitted by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner that on the basis of the complaint given by the petitioner, the second respondent Police have registered a case in Crime No.241 of 2022 against the accused for the offence punishable under Sections 294(b), 341 and 506(1) IPC. Inspite of registration of the case, the Police are not evincing any interest and thereby, the petitioner has made a representation on 04.05.2023 before the first respondent. Inspite of that, there is no progress in the investigation. It is submitted that the accused in this case are neither arrested nor surrendered before the Court and they are moving very well in the Society.

3. The learned Government Advocate (criminal side) appearing for the official respondents, on the other hand, submits that the respondents Police have examined five witnesses and the investigation is in progress and shortly, they will apprehend the accused and complete the investigation.

Considering the circumstances, by recording the submission made by the learned Government Advocate, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of directing the respondents Police to complete the investigation and apprehend the accused within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 31.07.2023 Index : Yes/No Internet : Yes/No ssb To 1.The Superintendent of Police, Thanjavur District.
