ORDER
The Writ Petition has been filed, invoking Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the representation dated 03.08.2024 signed by the writ petitioner and other villagers and consequential direction to grant permission for conducting temple festival of Sri Narkan Udayar Karuppar Temple situated at Marakkathur Village, Kalayarkovil Taluk, Sivagangai District and cultural event of "Sri Valli Thirumanam Nadagam" scheduled to be held on 10.08.2024 and to provide adequate police protection for the event.
2. Mr.E.Antony Sahaya Prabahar, learned Additional Public Prosecutor takes notice for the respondents. By consent, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
3. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents. 2/4
4. When the matter is taken up for hearing today, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents would submit that there are two groups in Marakkathur Village and both the groups wanted to conduct "Sri Valli Thirumanam Nadagam" separately.
5. Considering the above, the second respondent is directed to conduct a meeting on 08.08.2024 with the writ petitioner's group as well as the counter group and to take a decision with regard to conducting of drama in the temple festival on or before 09.08.2024.
