O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 08.12.2017 and to provide electricity service connection to the petitioner's residential house situated in Door No.5/61, Santhanenthal Village, Kamuthi Taluk, Ramanathapuram District after receipt of necessary charges.

2. The case of the petitioner is that he has purchased the property in Natham S.No.124/2 (New Natham S.No.316/2) from Kumariah on 2/6

09.03.2010 and constructed a dwelling house. Thereafter, he has approached the respondents for electricity service connection to his house. Since the respondents have not taken any steps to provide service connection, the petitioner has made a representation dated 08.12.2017 to the respondents, requesting them to provide electricity service connection. After receipt of the same, they have not taken any steps to provide electricity connection to the petitioner's house. Hence, the petitioner has approached this Court seeking direction to the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 08.12.2017 and to provide service connection to the petitioner's residential house.

The learned Standing counsel appearing for the respondents would submit that the respondents are ready and willing to give electricity connection to the petitioner's house from the pole in S.C.No. 001 116. But the petitioner wanted to get the service connection from the pole in S.C.No.001 58 and the said service connection has to pass through the land of another and he has raised objection regarding the same.

Based on the submissions made by the learned Standing counsel, this Court directs the petitioner to give a fresh representation by enclosing a copy of this order to the respondents seeking electricity connection to his house, within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. On receipt of the same, the respondents shall consider the representation of the petitioner and pass appropriate orders to provide service connection to the petitioner's house through any other line which is not passing through anybody's house and passing through the common pathway and under the procedure established by the Electricity Board, after payment of necessary charges, within a period of four weeks.

5. With the above directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
