The Writ Petition has been filed for a direction, directing the respondent to consider the representation dated 21.08.2019 filed by the petitioner and adjust eligible refund amount lying on the credit of the petitioner in terms of the proceedings issued by the respondent in Lr.No.SE/Virudhunagar EDC/DFC/ /2019, dated 29.04.2019 against the Current Consumption charges of the petitioner's group concerns bearing HTSC connection Nos.97, 194, 182 and 226.

W.P.(MD)No.19472 of 2019 2.The petitioner is a group of concerns. As per the norms of respondent company, he has to pay additional security deposit on the basis of consumption. Accordingly, he paid additional security deposit, corresponding to its consumption of electricity. After payment of all the electricity charges, it is seen that an excess amount to the tune of Rs.61,42,121/- is available with the electricity board. Hence, the petitioner approached the respondent number of times for getting refund of the excess amount, but the respondent has not refunded the said amount. After that, the petitioner sent a representation dated 21.08.2019 to the respondent to adjust the excess amount remaining with the respondent to the tune of Rs.61,42,121/- against the dues (Current consumption bills) of its group concerns vide electricity Service Connection bearing HTSC.Nos.97,194 and 226.
3.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned counsel appearing for the respondent. 4.The learned counsel appearing for the respondent would submit that there will not be much difficulty in adjusting the excess amount against the dues of group concerns of the petitioner Company. 5.Considering the above facts and circumstances of the case, a direction is given to the respondent to adjust the remaining amount of Rs.61,42,121/- to the current consumption dues of the group concerns into the account of electricity service connection bearing HTSC.Nos.97,194,226 from the petitioner's credit.
6. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
