ORDER
The present Writ Petition is filed for Mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 6 to forbear the 9th respondent from conducting Aadi festival on 05.08.2024 and 06.08.2024 of Arulmigu Ayyanar Oor Kaval Karuppar and Kamatchi Kovil at Karadipatti, Velakurichi Village, Marungapuri Taluk, Trichy District, which was the subject matter of O.A.No.35 of 2019 pending on the file of the 2nd respondent.
2. It is submitted by the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 to 6 that the present Writ Petition has become infructuous in view of the fact that the festivals are already over. However, the learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is aggrieved by the fact that he was not permitted to participate in the said festival, which was refuted by the learned counsel for the official respondents as well as the private respondents.
3. At this juncture, the learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner intends to submit a representation before the Joint 3/7
Commissioner/second respondent herein seeking permission to conduct a festival.
4. This Court, without expressing anything on merits, if any such representation is made, directs the second respondent to consider the same and pass orders in accordance with law.
5. A request was also made by all the parties that the Joint Commissioner/second respondent, before whom the application in O.A.No.35 of 2019 is pending, may be directed to dispose of the said application within a time frame stipulated by this Court, taking into account that the pendency of the said application has created uncertainty in administration including conducting the festival.
6. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 to 6 would submit that the application in O.A.No.35 of 2019 would be disposed of by the second respondent within a period of six (6) months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 4/7
