Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the 1st Respondent to dispose the Petitioners Application dated 20.03.2026 in a time bound seeking reclassification of his property situated at Mandithoppu Village, Kovilpatti Taluk, Palayamkottai Registration District in Survey No. 284/3 to an extent of 1.03.5 Hectares (2.56 Acres) from Residential Area Grade-II Category-I to the Punjai Agricultural Land and consequential revision of guideline value, after affording an opportunity of hearing to the Petitioner. 1/4

ORDER

The writ petition has been filed with a prayer to consider the request of the petitioner dated 20.03.2026 seeking to classify his property at Survey No. 284/3, Kovilpatti Taluk, Palayamkottai Registration District admeasuring 1.03.5 Hectares (2.56 Acres) from Residential Area Grade-II Category-I to the Punjai Agricultural Land.

2. According to the learned counsel for the petitioner without any approved layout whatsoever, the same has been wrongly reflected as residential area. Therefore, the petitioner has made an application on 20.03.2026 and the same is not considered till date. Therefore, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition.

3.When the matter came up for admission, the learned Government Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents would submit that the representation will be taken up for consideration and orders in accordance with the law will be passed.

4. In view thereof, this writ petition is disposed of on the following terms:

(i) The representation of the petitioner dated 20.03.2026 shall be taken up for consideration. Due notice of hearing shall also be given to the petitioner and orders in accordance with law shall be passed as expeditiously as possible, in any event, not later than twelve weeks from the date of receipt of the web copy of the order.
