Respondents Prayer: Writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 4, particularly the 4th respondent to register the petitioner cultivating rights under Tamil Nadu Cultivating Tenants Protection Act, 1955, for cultivating the land bearing Iyan Nanjai Survey No.142/8, Patta No.23 and Iyan Nanjai Survey No.147/10, Patta no.62, situated at Kiliyanallur Village, Kelakarachi, Manachanallur Taluk, Thiruchirappalli District.

Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the fourth respondent. Notice to the other respondents is dispensed with. 2.The petitioner had given a application to the fourth respondent for recording her name as a cultivating tenant. The fifth respondent is the contestant. The application is said to be pending for more than seven months. Therefore, the fourth respondent is directed to dispose of the said application on merits and in accordance with law after notice to the fifth respondent. This exercise shall be completed within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. I have not gone into the merits of the matter. It is open to the fourth respondent to pass orders one way or the other.
3.The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
