Respondent PRAYER : Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issue of a Writ of Habeas Corpus, to direct the respondents to produce the person or body of the detenue, viz.,K.Vidhya D/o.Karunanithi, aged 22 years, before this Court, illegally detained by the 2nd respondent and set her at liberty.

O R D E R

(Order of the Court was made by V. BHARATHIDASAN, J.) Alleging that the petitioner's daughter, by name, K.Vidhya, aged about 21 years, found missing, suspecting that the 2nd respondent has abducted and illegally detained her, the petitioner has lodged a complaint before the first respondent police. Since no action has been taken by the first respondent police, the present Habeas Corpus Petition has been filed.

2. Today the detenue has secured and produced before this Court, on enquiry, she submitted that she, on her own, left the parental house and got married to the 2nd respondent, she is https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

H.C.P(MD)No.1570 of 2021 living with him and she is not illegally detained by the 2nd respondent. She is also not willing to go with the petitioner. The parents also present before this Court.

3. Considering the fact that the detenue is a major, she said to have married the 2nd respondent, living with him and she is not illegally detained by the 2nd respondent, as alleged by the petitioner, the Habeas Corpus Petition is dismissed.
