The petitioner is an employee of the second respondent Company. On 30.09.2012, while he was working, he has sustained grievous injuries in his right hand. Therefore, he has filed a claim petition before the Deputy Commissioner for Workmen Compensation, Madurai, in WC No.44 of 2013, claiming compensation from the second respondent. The Deputy Commissioner has passed an award of Rs.2,76,132/- along with 12% interest per annum from the date of accident to the date of deposit. The second respondent has not deposited the amount as per the award passed by the Deputy Commissioner. Therefore, the petitioner has filed this writ petition in the year 2019. 2/5
2.Today(01.09.2025), when this writ petition is taken up for hearing, the learned counsel on either side submits that pursuant to the earlier order of this Court, dated 27.03.2025, this matter has been referred for mediation to the Mediation Centre attached to this Court and on the efforts taken by the Mediator, the issue has been amicably settled between the employer and employee. A report from the Mediation Centre, dated 30.06.2025 is also placed before this Court.
3.Recording the submission made by either side counsel and the Mediation Report, dated 30.06.2025 and also placing appreciation to the Mediator, this writ petition is closed as infructuous. No costs.
