The present Writ Petition has been filed by a Tutor cum Matron from Government Backward Class Girls School Hostel, Thandalaiputhur, seeking a Mandamus to grant re-employment till the end of the academic year i.e., 31.05.2025, in accordance with the Government Order in G.O.Ms.No.14, Backward Classes, Most Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare (MWRU2) Department, dated 19.02.2019.
2. According to the learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner, she had attained superannuation on 30.06.2024. Even before the said date, on 17.05.2024, she had submitted a request seeking extension of services to the third respondent herein. However, so far, the orders have not been passed. 2/5
She has further contended that one of the colleagues, who was about to be retired on the same day, has been granted extension of services. But, her request has not been considered.
3. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.
4. Considering the above said facts, the respondents 2 and 3 are directed to consider the request of the writ petitioner and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. With the above said observation, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently connected Miscellaneous Petition stands closed.
