PRAYER:- Writ Petition - filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondent to pay interest at the rate of 6% per annum to the petitioner for the belated payment of Gratuity from the date of retirement to the date of actual payment. Both M/s.D.Ramya, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.J.Senthil Kumaraiah, learned Standing counsel for the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (Madurai) Limited would submit that the petitioner has received interest for belated payment of gratuity. The learned Standing counsel appearing for the respondent circulates a copy of the written instructions received by him from the respondent dated 11.11.2021, quantifying the amounts and setting out the dates of payments as well. Thus, Mandamus as sought for has been achieved and the writ petition is thus closed recording the aforesaid. No costs.
