Respondent Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to consider the online application of the petitioner dated 18.06.2024 for issuance of Patta to the petitioner in respect of the property bearing in S.No.68/12, to an extent of 19301⁄2 sq. feet, S.No.17/4, of an extent of 83⁄4 cents, and S.No.67/11, of an extent of 71⁄2 cents situate at Anaiyur Bit - II Village, Madurai North Taluk, Madurai District in the light of the Lok Adalat Settlement decree dated 11.08.2014 made in O.S.No.215 of 2008 on the file of the Court of the Subordinate Judge, Madurai within a stipulated period as that may fixed by this Court.

ORDER

Under a Lok Adalat settlement decree dated 11.08.2014, in O.S.No.215 of 2008 on the file of the Sub-Court, Madurai, the lands comprised in S.No.68/12 - 19301⁄2 sq. feet; S.No.17/4 - 83⁄4 cents; and S.No.67/11 - 71⁄2 cents in Anaiyur Bit - II Village, Madurai North Taluk, Madurai District were allotted to the petitioner. The petitioner has made an online application to the respondent for grant of patta on 18.06.2024. However, the respondent has not processed the same and a representation was given to the appellate authority viz., the Revenue Divisional Officer, Madurai, which was also forwarded to the respondent. However, no steps have been taken to date. Hence, the petitioner has moved this writ petition.

2. Heard the learned counsel on either side.

Considering the above facts and taking note of the fact that the online application has been made as early as on 18.06.2024 and the Revenue Divisional Officer concerned has also directed compliance, which compliance has not been done to date, there shall be a mandamus issued to the respondent herein to consider the online application of the petitioner and pass orders within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
