O R D E R
[Order of the Court was made by S.M.SUBRAMANIAM, J.] Mr.V.Om Prakash, learned Government Advocate, takes notice for the respondents 1 & 2 and Mr.T.Senthil Kumar, learned Additional Public Prosecutor, takes notice for the respondents 3 to 5.
2. In view of limited scope of the relief sought for in this writ petition, notice to the private respondents is dispensed with.
3. This writ petition has been instituted seeking a direction to the respondents 1 to 5 to grant permission and protection to conduct the Temple Festival and "Eruthu Ottam (Bull Race)" to the "Sri Erthukuttai Jakkalamman Temple", situated at Mathanaickanur, D.Kudalur Village, Gujiliamparati Taluk, Dindigul District, scheduled to be held on 06.07.2025, 15.07.2025 and 16.07.2025, based on the petitioner's representation dated 02.07.2025.
4. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents 3 to 5, on instructions, submitted that the respondent - Police
will provide necessary protection only to conduct festival in the temple. Insofar as the bull race is concerned, two fraction groups are functioning, which may create law and order problem and more so, there is a threat to the safety and security of the people residing in the locality and the devotees of the temple.

This Court is of the considered opinion that there is no reason to interfere with the decision taken by the authorities concerned not to grant permission to the bull race (Eruthu Ottam), however, the authorities concerned have no objection for granting permission / protection for the temple festival as per the conditions to be stipulated for the purpose of maintaining peace and tranquillity during the conduct of the festival and accordingly, permission / protection will be granted by the authorities concerned for the conduct of temple festival.
6. With the above observation, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
