Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent i.e, the Secretary to Government, Social Welfare and Nutritious Meal Department, Chennai to pass appropriate orders on the petitioner's appeal dated 05.10.2020 against the punishment of stoppage of increment for a period of one year with cumulative effect ordered by the Commissioner of Social Welfare and Nutritious Meal Department, Chennai in his br/K/e/f/vz; 40881-eph;5-2-2020 ehs; 29/07/2020 within a specified time frame, that may be fixed by this Court. For Petitioner: Mr.A.Thirumurthy for Mr.S.Visvalingam.

By consent of both parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself. 1/3
2.The grievance of the petitioner is that his appeal before the first respondent dated 05.10.2020 against the punishment of stoppage of increment with cumulative effect has not been considered.
3.Today when the matter is came up for admission, the learned Special Government Pleader, on instructions, submitted that the first respondent is willing to dispose of the appeal, if they are given sufficient time for atleast three months. 4.This Court is of the view that three months would be a reasonable time to dispose of the appeal. Accordingly, there shall be a direction to the first respondent herein to consider the petitioner's appeal dated 05.10.2020, and pass final orders, in accordance with law, within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands allowed. No costs.
