Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, by directing the respondent to permit the petitioner's sangam to maintain and put up necessary structures in Survey No.117 an extent of 16.16 Acres in E.Muthulingapuram, Sattur Taluk, Virudhunagar District in the land allotted to Sri Sakkadevi Temple by considering the petitioner's representation dated 15.09.2021, within the period stipulated as prescribed by this Court.

ORDER

The petitioner seeks the consideration of his representation dated 15.09.2021 for permission to maintain and construct necessary structures in Survey No.117 of an extent of 16.16 acres in E.Muthulingapuram, Sattur Taluk, Virudhunagar District.

2. The petitioner states that the Sri Sakkadevi Koil Valipaduvor Sangam (the Sangam) was formed by the descendants of Kunjisamy, and that the Sri Sakkadevi Koil was established about 500 years ago. It is stated that there is no roof for the Temple. Consequently, the Temple and the deities therein are exposed to the elements. In these circumstances, the petitioner's Sangam intends to undertake necessary repair and renovation work at the Temple. The present Writ Petition is filed in that regard.

3. Mr.P.Subbaraj, learned counsel for the State, accepts notice on behalf of the sole respondent. He points out that objections were made by the Poojaries and certain other individuals https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

W.P(MD)No.19128 of 2021 in relation to the work intended to be carried out by the Sangam. Therefore, he submits that all objectors should be put on notice before a decision is taken on the petitioner's representation.

In view of the above submissions, W.P.(MD).No.19128 of 2021 is disposed of by directing the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 15.09.2021 and dispose of the same by a reasoned order within a period of three (3) months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order after providing a reasonable opportunity to the Sangam and to all the objectors in respect of the work intended to be carried out by the Sangam. There will be no order as to costs.
