Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 3 to provide adequate police protection to the petitioner to discharge the official duties and day-to-day administration of VTM College of Arts and Science College, Arumanai, Kanyakumari District and to take appropriate actions against the respondents 4 to 6, by considering the petitioner's complaint dated 14.12.2017.

O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents 1 to 3 to provide adequate police protection to the petitioner to discharge the official duties and day-to-day administration of VTM College of Arts and Science College, Arumanai, Kanyakumari District and to take appropriate actions against the respondents 4 to 6, by considering the petitioner's complaint dated 14.12.2017.

2. According to the petitioner, he was elected as the Secretary and Correspondent of one VTM College, of Arts and Science at Arumanai, Kanyakumari District, and he is discharging his duty. Now, the respondents 4 to 6 along with rowdy elements prevented the petitioner from discharging his official duties and hence, he made a representation to the second and third respondents to provide police protection to him and discharge his function as Secretary and Correspondent and since it was not considered, the present Writ Petition has been filed.

3. Today, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents 1 to 3, on instructions, submitted that the petitioner's representation has been considered by the third respondent police, and during enquiry, it was found that the petitioner was not the elected Secretary and Correspondent of the College. There is a dispute between two groups regarding the management of the College. In the above circumstances, the petitioner's representation has been closed on 07.04.2018 itself.

4. Considering the fact that already the petitioner's representation has been considered and closed by the respondent, the relief sought for by the petitioner in the present Writ Petition cannot be granted. Hence, the Writ Petition is dismissed. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
