O R D E R

The petitioner, with a grievance that a sum of Rs.1,32,000/- (Rupees One Lakh Thirty Two Thousand only) which he has deposited for conducting quarry, has not been returned to him, has filed the present writ petition.

2. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents, on instructions, submits that the petitioner has conducted quarry from 2008 to 2013 and during that time, he has deposited a sum of Rs.1,32,000/- (Rupees One Lakh Thirty Two Thousand only) as Security Deposit in favour of the first respondent, namely, the District Collector, Madurai District, and after the quarry period is over, the said amount has been accounted for the Accountant General. The petitioner has filed an 2/5

application for refund of the said deposit amount only in the year 2021 and therefore, the respondents need some more time to initiate action to refund the said deposit amount which has already been accounted with the Accountant General.

In view of the submission made by the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents, this Writ Petition is disposed of, directing the respondents to refund the said amount of Rs.1,32,000/- (Rupees One Lakh Thirty Two Thousand only) to the petitioner within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
