Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 29.12.2020 and pass necessary order removing the petitioner's name from the History Sheet rowdy list maintained in the 2nd respondent police station in HS.No.103 of 2001 within the time fixed by this Court. ORDER

(This writ petition is heard through video conference) This petition has been filed for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 29.12.2020 and pass necessary order removing the petitioner's name from the History Sheet rowdy list maintained in the 2nd respondent police station in HS.No.103 of 2001 within the time fixed by this Court.

2.The case of the petitioner is that he has been falsely implicated in Crime NO.185 of 2001 for the offences punishable under Sections 294(b) and 506(ii) and 379 of IPC r/w 3(1) of TNPPDL Act and is regularly appearing before the Court. Hence, history sheet in H.S.No.103 of 2001 has been opened against him and it has been periodically extended, even though thereafter, no case has been registered against him. So he sent a representation dated 29.12.2020 1/3

to remove his name from the history sheet. Since that was not considered so far, this petition has been filed. 3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that so far 7 cases have been filed against the petitioner and some of the cases are pending and from 1996 cases are pending against this petitioner.

4.But however, since the representation that has been pending, the first respondent shall consider the same and pass orders on merits within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.With the above directions, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
