O R D E R

The present Writ Petition is filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the Respondent No.1 to decide the Patta cancellation Appeal filed by the Petitioner in respect of the properties comprised in S.Nos.135/2, 135/8 and 167/5 Situated at Pannamgulam Village Devakottai Taluk and S.Nos.62/7C, 66/9A, 3/10, 3/6 and 4/1 situated at Seluvathi Village, Devakottai Taluk, Sivagangai District.

2. The petitioner's mother Backiyathammal is the owner of the said properties and she died in the year 1999. She had only two daughters namely, the petitioner Pappa and Sedhu. Sedhu also died in the year 1979. After the demise of petitioner's mother, the petitioner and the children of petitioner's sister Sedhu are in possession and enjoyment of the said properties. Patta is stands in the name of the petitioner's mother under Patta Nos.484 and 127 for Panagulam Village and Seluvendhi Village respectively. During the year 2025, the other properties are mutated in the name of third parties. On several occasions the petitioner submitted representation in person, further by appeal petition dated 06.06.2026. Since the said appeal is pending, without being considered, the petitioner is seeking disposal of the same. Page No. 2 of 5

3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned counsel for the Government of Tamilnadu.

4. This Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, is directing the first respondent to consider and pass orders on the petitioner's appeal petition dated 06.06.2026, after issuing notice to the petitioner as well as the rival claimants, if any, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above observations, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
