PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the third respondent police to grant police protection and permission to conduct the Annual fishing catching festival at the Kilavan Kulam situated in the Lakshmipuram, Kuttupatti Village, Natham Taluk, Dindigul District on 25.9.2022 between 10.00 AM to 1.00 PM by considering the petitioner representation dated 23.8.2022.

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the third respondent police to grant police protection and permission to conduct the Annual fishing catching festival at the Kilavan Kulam situated in the Lakshmipuram, Kuttupatti Village, Natham Taluk, Dindigul District on 25.9.2022 between 10.00 AM to 1.00 PM by considering the petitioner representation dated 23.8.2022. 2.The learned Additional Government Pleader and the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) takes notice for the respondents. By consent, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
3. When the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate (criminal side) appearing for the respondent police would submit that the third respondent has received the 2/5
representation of the petitioner dated 23.08.2022 and the same is pending for consideration.
4. In view of the same, the third respondent is hereby directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 23.08.2022 as per the circular issued by the Director General of Police, Tamil Nadu, Chennai in a circular memorandum in Rc.007301/Genl.I (1)/2019, dated 09.04.2019, along with instructions to the Inspectors of Police throughout Tamil Nadu for consideration of applications seeking permission for conducting such programme and pass suitable orders based on the above said circular.
5. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No cost.
