ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking direction to the 1st and 3rd respondents i.e., the Additional Chief Secretary to Government, Revenue Department, Chennai and the District Collector, Dindigul to send revised pension proposals to the Accountant General, Chennai calculating half of the services put in by the petitioner as Karnam for the period from 01.12.1971 to 14.11.1980 and Panchayat Assistant for the period from 01.01.1991 to 23.08.1994 within a specified time frame that may be fixed by this Court.

2. When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, Mr.S.Visvalingam submitted that, the petitioner is 2/5

already receiving the pensionary benefits under the Old Pension Scheme in the post of Village Administrative Officer.

3. As far as the service of the petitioner in the post of Karnam is concerned, there was a break in service of 9 years and hence, calculating half of service for the period from 01.12.1971 to 14.11.1980 in the post of Karnam put in by the petitioner will not arise.

4. Accordingly, this Writ Petition stands closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
