O RDER This Criminal Original Petition is filed seeking for a direction to expeditious completion of investigation in Crime No.177 of 2022 on the file of the second respondent Police.

2. It is submitted by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner that even after registration of the case on 16.06.2022, there is no substantial progress in the investigation and therefore, he sought for suitable directions.

3. The learned Government Advocate (criminal side) appearing for the respondents Police, on the other hand, submits that soon after the registration of the case, the investigation has commenced and the Police have examined six witnesses and got three documents. However, during the pendency of the investigation, in the month of February 2023, the investigation is transferred to the District Crime Branch, Sivagangai. It is submitted that they will complete the investigation in a fast pace and file a final report within a short time.

Taking into consideration the submission made by the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondents Police, more particularly, considering the fact that the District Crime Branch, Sivagangai, is not a party to this writ petition, the District Crime Branch, Sivagangai, is directed to complete the investigation within a period of 12 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Since the District Crime Branch, Sivagangai, is not a party to this petition, the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondents Police, is directed to convey the directions of this Court to the concerned Police.
