Respondents Prayer: Writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 06.07.2022 and also direct the respondents to fix the petitioner's seniority among the candidates who got selected in 2012 recruitment and to pay arrears of both salary and other accrued benefits to the petitioner within a stipulated time fixed by this Court.

O R D E R

Heard the learned counsel on either side.

2. The writ petitioner joined the Police Department as Grade II Constable. He was discharged from service for the unauthorised absent. Questioning the same, the petitioner filed writ petition and the order of discharge was set aside.

3. The petitioner has now been re-instated in service. However his seniority has not been properly fixed. He has therefore given a representation for fixing his seniority. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that in a similar case, fixation of seniority had been made in favour of one Mr.S.Thirumurugan vide proceedings bearing C.No.A2/4584/2021 dated 02.08.2022.

4. I do not want to enter into the merits of the matter. The third respondent is directed to consider the petition mentioned representation and issue appropriate proceedings in respect of the petitioner's seniority. Such proceedings shall be issued within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. This writ petition stands disposed of accordingly. No costs.
