1 of 2026 on the file of the 7th respondent police together with appropriate rehabilitation measures including medical assistance, psychiatric treatment, psychological counselling, livelihood support and such other assistance as may be necessary for hear physical, mental and social rehabilitation in accordance with law within the time stipulated by this Court. ORDER

Seeking to direct the respondents 1 and 2 to grant and disburse interim compensation forthwith and thereafter award the maximum compensation permissible under the Tamil Nadu Victim Compensation Scheme, 2018 to the petitioner's daughter Pasamalar, a deaf and dumb victim of gang rape in Crime No.1 of 2026 on the file of the 7th respondent police together with appropriate rehabilitation measures including medical assistance, psychiatric treatment, psychological counselling, livelihood support and such other assistance as may be necessary for hear physical, mental and social rehabilitation in accordance with law, this writ petition is filed.

2. The District Collector, Pudukottai District is suo motu impleaded as 8th respondent. Registry is directed to carry out the necessary amendment in the cause-title.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is a mother of the gang rape victim. The victim is a deaf and dumb woman and she is entitled for interim compensation within a period of seven days from the date of taking the case into the file of District Legal Services Authority. However, even after several days, the interim compensation has not been granted. Hence, 3/6

this writ petition.

4. The learned Government Advocate(Crl.side) submitted that the file for grant of interim compensation is pending before the 8th respondent.

5. Heard the learned counsel on either side and carefully perused the materials available on record.

6. In view of the above, the 8th respondent is is directed to take necessary action in the file of the petitioner seeking interim compensation for the rape of the petitioner's daughter within a period of seven days from the date of receipt of copy of this order. The respondent police is directed to conclude the investigation forthwith.

7. With the above directions, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. 24.06.2026 NCC : Yes / No Index : Yes / No gbg Note : Issue order copy on 30.06.2026.
