ORDER

This writ petition has been for Writ of Mandamus to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 24.07.2023.

Heard Mr.T.Vadivelan, the Learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner, Mr.G.Mathavan, the Learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the 1st respondent and Mr.S.P.Maharajan, Additional Government Pleader appearing for the 2nd respondent and perused the material documents available on record.

3. There were series of litigation in the temple festival to be conducted in Sree Maavayal Kattu Ayyanar temple at Keelathaniyam Village, Ponnamaravathi Taluk, Pudukottai District. This Court has already passed an order directing one Karuppiah to do the Kappu Kattu ritual. As far as the issue of Poojariship is concerned, already a petition was pending before the Executive Officer, Thirukokarnam, Pudukkottai District and this Court has directed the said Executive Officer to consider and pass orders. 2/5

4. On the date of hearing in the earlier writ petition, even though the issue of goat sacrifice was raised by the concerned parties, it was unanimously submitted that one Adaikkalam was doing the same, hence the said Adaikkalam shall continue to do the same.

5. Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, the issue of goat sacrifice is raised. Therefore, in order to resolve the issue raised, this Court is directing the Executive Officer to allow the said Adaikkalam to do goat sacrifice. Since the said Adaikalam is 70 years old he could not do effectively. Hence the said Karuppiah, who is going to do Kappu Kattu will assist with Adaikalam.

6. With these directions and observations, this Writ Petition is allowed. No Costs.
