ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents 1 and 2 to consider the objections submitted by the petitioner dated 09.06.2025 towards the draft inter-se Seniority List of Assistant Engineer, and Junior Engineer published in ROC No. 10660/2024/GA2, dated 04.06.2025 on the file of 2nd Respondent.

2. By consent of both parties, this writ petition is disposed at the stage of admission itself.

3. The petitioner joined in the services of Arupukkottai Municipality as 'Work Inspector' in the year 1999 and subsequently, he was promoted as 'Overseer / Draftsman' in the year 2005, promoted as 'Junior Engineer' in the year 2014 and finally, promoted as Assistant Engineer in the year 2016. While this being so, the second respondent published the common draft interse seniority list among Junior Engineers and Assistant Engineers for the post of Assistant Executive Engineer vide proceedings dated 04.06.2025. The petitioner has given his objections dated 09.06.2025 to the said draft seniority list dated 04.06.2025. Since the same has not been considered till date, the present writ petition has been filed.

Considering the limited scope of the relief sought for by the petitioner, there shall be a direction to the second respondent to consider the petitioner's objections dated 09.06.2025, on its own merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is also made clear that this Court has not expressed any of its views with regard to the merits of the matter and that it is open to the respondents to consider the same on its own merits.

5. With the above directions, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
