ORDER

This petition is filed seeking direction to the learned Special District Judge for TANPID Act Cases, Madurai to dispose of Cr.M.P.No.1964 of 2021 in C.C.No.3 of 2011 pending on the file of the 1st respondent within the time stipulated by this Court. 2.Now the grievance of the petitioner is that even though the aforesaid petition has been filed under Section 5A of the TANPID Act, it appears that it is kept pending without any progress. 3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents through the status report would submit that the case is of the year 2011 and there was already a direction in Crl.O.P.(MD) Nos.4824 and 4825 of 2014 to expedite the trial process and complete the same within a period of 6 months from the date of receipt of a copy of that order. The order is dated 28.11.2016. 4.

In spite of the aforesaid direction, it is kept pending for more than 4 years. Hence, this petition came to be filed. Even though there is a long delay on the part of this petitioner in filing this petition, the order passed in Crl.O.P.(MD) Nos.4824 and 4825 of 2014 has to be complied with by the trial Court. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.

Crl.O.P.(MD) No.16456 of 2021 5.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that because of the death of the petitioner's husband, there was a delay in filing the present petition.

6.Whatever may be the reason, considering the oldness of the matter, there shall be a direction to the learned Special District Judge for TANPID Act Cases, Madurai, shall dispose of Cr.M.P.No.1964 of 2021 in C.C.No.3 of 2011, within a period of 15 days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7.With the aforesaid direction, this petition stands disposed of.
