Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to prevent illegal sand mining near Kirudumal river bridge, opposite to Aadavalli Amman Temple in Athikulam to Naalur road, Thiruchuli Taluk, Virudhunagar District by considering representation submitted by the petitioner dated on 26.03.2018 in accordance with law.

Heard both sides.
2.The petitioner alleged that illicit quarrying was going in Kirudumal river bridge in Thiruchuli Taluk. The writ petition was filed in the year 2018. The District Collector has filed status report. It reads as follows: "4) It is respectfully submitted that, while, inspection it is found that, SF.No.121/1 and 121/2 of Athikulam village has not quarried and it remains barren with thorns and bushes. Further it is submitted that, there is no quarrying activities found by the officials around the Kirudhumal River Bridge, opposite to Adavallu Amman Temple, in Athikulam village, Tiruchuli Taluk."

We accept the stand taken by the District Collector. 3.This writ petition is disposed of accordingly. There shall be no order as to costs.
