This Habeas Corpus Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to direct the respondents to produce before this Honourable Court the detenue Selvam S/o. Gurusamy Mooppanar, C.P.No. 2480, presently lodged in Madurai Central Prison, and set him at liberty forthwith as per the G.O.(MS) No.1155/Home (Prison IV) Department/2008 dated 11.09.2008. ORDER:- This Revision/Appeal Petition coming on for orders on this day and upon perusing the petition and the affidavit filed in support thereof and upon hearing the arguments of Thiru. V.SANTHAKUMARESAN, Advocate for the Petitioner and of Thiru. K.CHELLAPANDIAN, Additional Advocate General, Assisted by Mr. K. Dinesh Babu, Additional Government Pleader for the respondents, this Court made the following order:
(Order of the Court was made by M.SATHYANARAYANAN,J.) This Court, in continuation and in conjuncture with the order dated 03.07.2019, is passing the following order.
2. Heard the submissions of the learned Counsel for the petitioner and Mr.K.Chellapandian, learned Additional Advocate General assisted by Mr.K.Dinesh Babu, learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the State, who, on instructions, would submit that the report of the Probation Officer has been collected, however, the report of the District Collector, Madurai District, is awaited and necessary materials have also been placed before the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
District Collector, Madurai District, so as to enable him to file the report and prays for some accommodation.
3. In the light of the above facts and circumstances of the case, the District Collector, Madurai District, is directed to send a report to the Superintendent, Central Prison, Madurai, within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
