ORDER

This petition has been filed in the nature of Mandamus seeking extension of time to give the Certificate of Practice of notary by the respondent by considering a representation given by the petitioner on 07.08.2021 through proper process.

2. The petitioner herein has been a member of the Bar and has been a notary from the year 1992 in Madurai city. He has been renewing the application continuously for the past 29 years. Owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, he was not able to renew the application. The respondent has also sent a letter and thereafter refused to extend the period of the petitioner herein. The respondent has not countenanced the fact that even the Hon'ble Supreme Court has been extending the period of limitation extent as fixed by various statutes during the COVID-19 pandemic. It is only a procedure envisaged. Therefore, time is granted till 03.12.2021 to the petitioner to comply with the necessary requirements. 3. This Writ Petition is allowed. There shall be no order as to costs.
