O R D E R

The present Writ Petition has been filed by a Special Officer of Cooperative Society seeking a Mandamus as against the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 03.11.2023 and reminder dated 08.07.2024 and permit the petitioner to retire from service and for disbursement of benefits within a time frame.

2. According to the learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner, a criminal case initiated as against her had ended in acquittal. Further, the proceedings that were initiated as against the petitioner under Section 87 of the Tamil Nadu Co-operative Societies Act, has also ended in her favour. According to the learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner, the petitioner had attained superannuation on 31.05.2017. However, she has not been permitted to retire in view of the pendency of the proceedings.

3. Requesting the respondent to permit her to retire, the petitioner has sent a representation on 03.11.2023 and reminder on 08.07.2024. Since there is no response, the present writ petition has been filed. 2/4

4. In view of the above said facts, the respondent herein is directed to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 03.11.2023 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above said observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
