This Writ Petition is filed seeking for a direction to the respondent Police to provide police protection at the time of conducting survey of land.

According to the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, there is a dispute between the petitioner and the unofficial respondent about wrong entry in the patta which was subsequently corrected in favour of the petitioner. The petitioner has filed an application before the Revenue Divisional Officer for surveying the land in Survey No.222/3 situated at Veerapandi Village, Theni Taluk, Theni District. However, when the petitioner intends to survey, the fifth respondent raised objections.

The learned Government Advocate (criminal side) appearing for the official respondents submits that the petitioner has given a representation to the Higher Officials and the enquiry is still pending. It is further submitted that in case the fifth respondent has raised objection at the time of survey being done by the fourth respondent, if request is made by the Surveying Authorities, the Police would provide protection.
4. Recording the submission made by the learned Government Advocate (criminal side) appearing for the official respondents, this Writ Petition is disposed of directing the respondents Police to dispose of the representation of the petitioner dated 03.05.2023 within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs.
