O R D E R

The present Writ Petition has been filed by a Driver of the respondent Transport Corporation, who attained superannuation on 31.05.2022, seeking a Mandamus for payment of interest due to belated disbursement of terminal benefits.

2. The petitioner had retired from service on 31.05.2022 and his terminal benefits were released on 29.03.2023. Seeking interest for belated disbursement of terminal benefits, the petitioner has sent a representation on 04.03.2024 and the same has also been received by the authorities. 2/5

3. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents.

4. Considering the above said facts, the respondents herein are directed to pay the interest at the rate of 6% per annum for the belated disbursement of terminal benefits from the due date till the date of realization, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above said observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
