This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to provide electricity service connection to the petitioner's house bearing Door No.15/2, Ice Plant Street, Kezha Muttam Village, Kurunthankodu, Kanniyakumari District, based on house tax receipts and without insisting upon patta or title deed, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.
2. Heard Mr.V.G.Vallarasu Chezhiyan, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr. S.Deenadhayalan, learned Standing Counsel, who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents 1 and 2.
3. By consent of both parties, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

4. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner had made an online application along with the requisite fee on 16.04.2026 seeking electricity connection for his house. Since no action was taken by the respondents, the petitioner submitted a detailed representation dated 30.04.2026. However, as the said representation has also not been considered till date, the petitioner has been constrained to approach this Court by filing the present writ petition.
5. The learned counsel further submitted that it would suffice if this Court issues a direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 30.04.2026 and pass appropriate orders thereon within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

Considering the above facts and circumstances of the case and without going into the merits of the case, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents, to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 30.04.2026 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law. 3/6
