Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent Nos.3,4,5 and 6 for not to harass the petitioner's husband by name Gubendran and his family members in the name of enquiry.

O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents 3 to 6 not to harass the petitioner's husband, by name Gubendran and his family members in the name of enquiry

2. According to the petitioner, some criminal cases have been foisted against the petitioner's husband and now, under the guise of conducting enquiry, the respondents police are harassing him and also his family members. Hence, the present Writ Petition has been filed.

3. Today, when the Writ Petition was taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents 1 to 5, on instructions, submitted that already, eight criminal cases are pending against the petitioner's husband and all are relating to robbery and theft. The respondents police are only conducting the investigation and they are not harassing the petitioner's husband, as alleged by the petitioner.

4. Considering the fact that already, eight criminal cases of serious offence are pending against the petitioner's husband, the prayer sought for by the petitioner cannot be granted. Hence, the Writ Petition stands dismissed. No costs.
