PRAYER: Criminal Original Petition filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C. praying to direct the respondents to give adequate police protection to the petitioner and his family members as well as his property based on the petitioner's complaint dated 02.09.2019. ORDER
This petition has been filed seeking direction to direct the respondents police to give adequate police protection to the petitioner and his family members as well as his property based on the petitioner's complaint dated 02.09.2019.
2.Heard the learned senior counsel for the petitioner and learned Government Advocate(Crl.Side) for the respondents police 1 to 3.
3.The learned Senior counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that there was a family dispute between the petitioner's daughter and his son-in-law, due to which, the petitioner's son-in1/3
law engaged the fourth respondent to drive out the petitioner's daughter and her entire family members from the house of the petitioner situated at Door No.1/267, Main Road, Anakkarai Salai, Thirumangalakudi, Thiruvidai Marudhur Taluk, Thanjavur District. In this regard, the petitioner lodged a complaint on 02.09.2019 before the third respondent. After receipt of the same, the third respondent did not take any action. Therefore, the petitioner approached the second respondent to direct the third respondent to give adequate police protection to the petitioner and his family members.
4.The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondents 1 to 3 submitted that there was a family dispute between the petitioner's daughter and his son-in-law. In this regard, the fourth respondent was engaged by the son-in-law of the petitioner and on receipt of the complaint, the respondents police are taking steps to secure the fourth respondent.
5.Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, the third respondent is directed to enquire on the complaint, dated 02.09.2019 lodged by the petitioner and take appropriate action as against the fourth respondent. In the mean while, the third respondent also directed to provide adequate police protection to the petitioner and his family members and their house situated at Door No.1/267, Main Road, Anakkarai Salai, Thirumangalakudi, Thiruvidai Marudhur Taluk, Thanjavur District forthwith. 6.With the above direction, this criminal original petition is disposed of.
