ORDER

The petitioner's husband was an agriculturist and he died in the year 2002. She claims that the land in old Survey No.162 and New Survey No.190/31 to an extent of 1 cents situated at Vadakkupatti Village, Ilayarasanendhal, Kovilpatti Taluk, Thoothukudi District, had been in possession and enjoyment of her husband. The said land is a Government Natham Poramboke. After his demise, the petitioner and her children are in possession and enjoyment of the property. Therefore, she has submitted an application dated 05.04.2023 to the respondents seeking to grant patta under the free patta scheme in respect of the said land. Since the said application has not been considered by the respondents, the petitioner has filed this writ petition. 2/4

2. The learned Additional Government Pleader seeks short accommodation to get instructions.

3. Considering the relief sought for in this writ petition, this Court directs the second respondent/the Tahsildhar, Kovilpatti Taluk, Thoothukudi District, to take a decision on the petitioner's application, dated 05.04.2023, in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
