PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 29.08.2022 and gave adequate police protection to the petitioner for installing the Ganesha's clay on 31.08.2022 and permit petitioner on 04.09.2022 took the idol procession through four corner viz., North, East, South, West of Chariot Street, Melathaniyam and immersed the idol in to Kamban Chetti Lake. 1/5

This writ petitioner filed this Writ Petition seeking for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 29.08.2022 and gave adequate police protection to the petitioner for installing the Ganesha's clay on 31.08.2022 and permit petitioner on 04.09.2022 took the idol procession through four corner viz., North, East, South, West of Chariot Street, Melathaniyam and immersed the idol in to Kamban Chetti Lake.

2. Heard Mr.S.Vinothkumar, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.M.Sakthi Kumar, learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side), appearing for the respondents.

3. When the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate (crl. side) appearing for the respondent police submitted that the respondent police has prepared a plan for permitting the idol procession through some non-problematic area and they have no 2/5

objection to permit the idol procession in non-problematic area marked by the respondent police. The statement is recorded.

4. Recording the same, the 3rd respondent/Inspector of Police is hereby directed to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 29.08.2022 and permit the petitioner to conduct idol procession through the permitted route.

5. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No cost.
