PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a writ of habeas corpus directing the respondents herein to produce the body or person that the detenue namely Mareeswari (aged 24 years) wife of Mahendran, before this Court and set her at liberty.

[Made by P.N.PRAKASH, J.] This habeas corpus petition has been filed seeking to direct the respondents to produce the petitioner's daughter namely Mareeswari, wife of Mahendran, aged 24 years, before this Court and set her at liberty.
2. It is the case of the petitioner that her daughter Mareeswari, aged 24 years, was given in marriage to one Mahendran sometime in the year 2017 and on account of some domestic quarrel, she left her matrimonial home and her whereabouts are not known from July 2021.
3. Today, Mr.N.Muneeswaran, H.C.935, Sikkal Police Station, is present before this Court.
4. On instructions, learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that on a complaint given by Mahendran the husband of Mareeswari, a case in Sikkal Police Station Crime No.116 of 2021 was registered on 25.07.2021 for "woman missing" and the investigation is in progress.
5. In such view of the matter, we direct the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Keelakarai, to supervise the investigation in Sikkal Police Station Crime No.116 of 2021 and keep the petitioner informed of the developments, if any. As and when the detenue Mareeswari, aged about 24 years, is secured, she shall be produced before the Judicial Magistrate Court, Kadaladi, under intimation to the petitioner and learned Judicial Magistrate shall pass appropriate orders with regard to custody in accordance with law. Accordingly, this habeas corpus petition stands closed.
