ORDER

The instant writ petition has been filed by a male legal heir of a deceased cook working in the Noon Meal Scheme Centre at Viralimalai Panchayat union, seeking a mandamus to grant appointment to the writ petitioner on compassionate grounds based upon his application dated 01.08.2011. 2.The petitioner's mother who was working as Cook under the above said scheme had passed away while in service on 27.04.2010. As per the Service Rules applicable to the said post, a male could not be appointed. Hence the petitioner has given a representation on 06.06.2024 to consider his name for being appointed on compassionate grounds in any other scheme other than MGR Nutritious Meal Programme.

In view of the above said representation, the second respondent is directed to include the name of the petitioner in the list maintained by his office for being considered to be appointed under any other scheme. Based upon the seniority and eligibility, appointment orders could be issued accordingly. 4.With the above said observations, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
