ORDER

The writ petition is filed seeking a direction to respondents 1 and 2 to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 01.04.2025 seeking enhancement of compensation in respect of the petitioner's land acquired for expansion of Trichy Airport.

2. According to the petitioner, the properties of the petitioner situated in Keezhakalkandarkottai Village. The competent authority fixed the compensation for the acquired land at Rs.27,50,000/- per acre. However, in the adjacent village situated at Keezhakalkandarkottai, the compensation amount was fixed at Rs.31,50,000/-. The petitioner submitted a representation before the first respondent seeking enhancement of compensation in respect of petitioner's land acquired for expansion of Trichy Airport. The said representation has not been considered. Hence, the petitioner has come before this Court.

3. The petitioner's land has been acquired under the provisions of the Tamil Nadu Acquisition of Land for Industrial Purpose Act, 1997. If the petitioner is not satisfied with the compensation amount fixed by the competent authority, it is for him to move an application seeking reference under Section 8 of the said Act. In such circumstances, the first respondent is directed to consider the representation submitted by the petitioner as an application under Section 8 of the said Act and dispose of the same in accordance with law subject to law of limitation, within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order after affording reasonable opportunity to the petitioner.

4. With the above direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
