Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the third respondent to grant patta as per the letter from the second respondent to the third respondent directing him to conduct the enquiry under O.Mu.A1/4029/2022, dated 07.06.2022, within the time frame fixed by this Court. Heard the learned counsel on either side.

2. The petitioners have sought mutation of revenue record and issuance of patta. The Revenue Divisional Officer, Kulithalai has sought report from the third respondent in this regard. The third respondent is directed to submit the report sought for by the second respondent within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The second respondent shall pass final order on merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks thereafter. I make it clear that I have not gone into the merits of the matter. It is open to the second respondent to pass order one way or the other. Interested parties shall be put on notice before passing final order. 2/4

3. This writ petition is disposed of. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. No costs.
