This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the second respondent to rectify the patta in No.309 and to rectify the name as Paramasamypillai instead of Alagappapillai based on the petitioner's application dated 13.06.2019 under Rule 12 of Patta Pass Book Rules, 1987.
2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the official respondents.
3. The grievance of the petitioner is that, although he submitted an application dated 13.06.2019 seeking rectification of the name in Patta No.309 in respect of the property acquired by him by way of partition under Document No.1880 of 1952, no action has been taken on the said application. Therefore, the petitioner is constrained to file the present writ petition.
4. Learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of respondents submits that the petitioner has impleaded the third respondent/District Revenue Officer and that the District Revenue 2/5
Officer will consider and dispose of the petitioner's application dated 13.06.2019, in accordance with law.

In view of the above submission, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the third respondent/ District Revenue Officer to consider the petitioner's application dated 13.06.2019 on merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. Such representation shall be considered and disposed of after conducting an inquiry and affording a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner and all other persons who may be affected by such decision during the course of the inquiry. In the event of any issues pertaining to land disputes, the parties shall approach the competent civil court. No costs.
