Mr.K.Prabhu, learned Central Government Standing Counsel takes notice on behalf of the respondent.

2.By consent of both sides, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. 3.The petitioner got married one Subramaniyam Mohan , who was a Singapore citizen. They were blessed with a male child on 11.12.2013 and by nature of birth, he acquired the citizenship of Singapore. Thereafter, due to matrimonial dispute between the petitioner and her husband, the petitioner came back to India along with the child and thereafter, she decided to stay permanently in India and on expiry of passport issued by the Singapore Government, she applied for new passport for her son in India. But that application is still pending with the authorities. 4.According to the petitioner, as per Section 4(1) of Citizenship Act, 1955, her son is entitled to Indian Passport, if one of the parents are Indians.

5.Considering the submission made by the petitioner, a direction is issued to the respondent to conduct enquiry into the matter and after affording opportunity to all the necessary parties, pass orders on the representation, dated 20.08.2019 in accordance https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

W.P.(MD) No.19882 of 2019 with law, within a period of three months from date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6.With the above observation, the writ petition is disposed of. There is no order as to costs.
